[ after the trial, magnus' first priority is catching up with nico. and checking up on nico. he knows the younger boy was close with reyna, like siblings. like maybe magnus and annabeth, except probably closer. but he knows if he had to deal with annabeth's murder... well. ]

[Magnus catches Nico in a corner of the library and most likely followed him in there because Nico didn't feel like going back to his room just yet. Plus he's maybe gathering materials. As such, he's quick to pull himself together and he doesn't quite face Magnus before he nods.]

You mean considering the huge understatement you just made? [The sarcastic bite falls flat.] ...no.

magnus is honestly tempted to pull nico into a hug, but neither of them are huggers magnus is but he pretends he's not. he's not sure nico would appreciate it. ]

I know we don't have the greatest track record of catching murderers after the fact, as far as I know. [ as if their track record of catching during the fact is any better? ] But we'll find Reyna's killer. And kill them, or whatever or, uh, save them to vote out.

[Megan don't lie to me Magnus is the most pure of the Riordan protags. Nevertheless he's not sure how he'd react to a hug anyway so maybe it's better. He's awkward and stiff and unsure, hunched into himself as he nods.]

...do you really think so? [He wants to believe they can find the killers.] I spoke with Souji earlier. He told me he believed Reyna was the blotter kill for this week. That means there's at least two people out there who were responsible. I want to find both of them.

Yeah, I do. Or at least, I know we have to try. [ at the same time, though, neither them is the son of the english god sherlock, so. ] Yeah? Well, then we have to find at least one of them, and they'll lead us to the other. Two out of twenty to look for isn't bad.

Depending on who they are, they might not rat each other out. Ann and Akechi were a very different case. No one else has ever spilled about being a Blotter and it's going to be harder to get them to say so.

Why didn't any of us get, like, a lie-detector ability or something?
